Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.1% Oct 2–Mon, 2.6% since Jan 1
MOSCOW, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s inflation remained at 0.1% for a third week in a row from October 2 through Monday, and rose 2.7% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Wednesday.
In the reported week, prices for millet grew by 2.4%, for chicken eggs by 2%, for sugar by 1.7%, for poultry by 1%, and for bread and sausages by 0.4–0.6%, for milk, sunflower oil, margarine, buckwheat, and rice by 0.3%, and for butter, sour cream, curd, canned meat, and noodle products by 0.2%. But frozen fish became 0.4% cheaper in the week.
Vegetable prices fell 0.1% on average, with prices for carrots falling 2.9%, for apples 2.2%, for cabbage 1.8%, for onions 1.5%, and for potatoes 0.8%. Prices for cucumbers and tomatoes rose 7.7% and 5.1%, respectively.
Prices for gasoline went up 0.1% and prices for diesel fuel increased 0.2%.
